Celebrating the Ground Beneath Our Hearts
If solastagia is getting to you, you are not alone, and you are invited to join in an international event to do something about it. Solastalgia is the pain you feel when the place you live in and love is under assault. Although coined by Australian philosopher Glenn Albrecht, the meaning of the word resonates around the world for people whose homes have been irrevocably changed and damaged by industrial practices. They also know we face big issues and that we need to funding to increase our capacity on the ground. That's why Noyes has started a campaign to get donor advised funds into the hands of grassroots groups across the country. Currently, more than $50 billion in donors advised funds are waiting to be contributed to nonprofit organizations. Imagine what $50 billion can do to advance social justice! More

FERC Changes Date of Meeting to TRY to Avoid Protestors
'Dishonest and deceitful,' protestors say: Lee Stewart of BXE slammed FERC's change-of-date, saying that FERC's statement about protecting staff is "dishonest and deceitful, and demonstrates unambiguously that they are more interested in the needs and profits of industry than in the needs of the American people,' he said in a statement. "Instead of changing its meeting dates to try to avoid protests, FERC should have the courage and integrity to end its subservience to industry, and start being concerned with the health and safety of people being victimized by fracking and gas infrastructure expansion, not make up false charges and insinuations." He did not say whether the protest events would be rescheduled, but promised that protestors would continue to show up at FERC's public meetings. More

FERC Hear This on Atlantic Coast Pipeline
Many have suggested we accept gas development and the proposed pipeline because of the jobs it brings. I raised two children here, and yes, I would love it if they could stay and make a decent living here. But not if they must risk their health working with hazardous materials. Not if their work would contribute to destroying the quality of life of fellow community members. Not if their work is harmful to the water, air, and ecosystems that sustain us. No job is worth what this pipeline and accompanying gas development will destroy. More
