If it is developed, this hub would bring a massive build-up of the petrochemical industry along the Ohio River from Beaver, PA, beyond Huntington, WV, and into Catlettsburg, KY. It would include a spur from the Kanawha River. Champions of the proposed hub see this as a good thing. But, we know otherwise from the experience of people who live near petrochemical plants. More

Dianne Bady was one of the principal founders of OVEC. Dianne, 67, succumbed to cancer on October 23, 2017 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Her husband Rick, her son Aaron, her sister Monica McFarland, and OVEC staff were with her in her final hours. More

Rover Pipeline Construction Disrupts Community Near Sistersville, WV, Now and Forever
The eight homes here are located an average of 300 feet from the pipeline. Should a malfunction occur, the incineration zone for the pipeline is a radius  of approximately 1300 feet. That is, should a blast occur, everything within 1300 feet will be incinerated.  More

Dianne McFarland Bady: August 8, 1950 – October 23, 2017
Dianne McFarland Bady died after a short illness, but a long struggle. Her final days came much too soon, and we are bereft. But she departed with her friends and family at her side, and her soul was at peace. Although it took an incurable cancer to force her to finally retire, OVEC will continue and nothing can kill Dianne’s vision. More
