Less-than-significant impact? You be the judge. Each of these pipelines will require compressor stations to either be built or expanded. Compressor stations can be nuisances in the communities where they are located because of the intense and constant noise and air pollutants emitted on a regular basis. They can also be a public safety hazard in that emissions of odorless and colorless, but toxic and highly explosive gas can occur. More

Groups Unite to Protect Our Region From Fracked Gas and Related Infrastructure
During the last weekend of July, more than 50 leaders representing 26 organizations from 6 states gathered at the Southern Appalachian Labor School. They discussed ways to strengthen regional work around issues people face from fracked gas drilling, waste disposal and related infrastructure concerns, and they heard a keynote address from a member of a group that organized to defeat the Keystone XL pipeline. More

On June 8, come to the Seeds of Resistance Corn Planting Ceremony in Weston, WV. Help plant seeds of resistance in the paths of the proposed Atlantic Coast and Mountain Valley fracked gas pipelines. As of June 2, OVEC has space for 2-3 more people in a vehicle coming (and returning same day) on June 8 from Huntington, to Charleston and up 79 North. If you'd like to meet this vehicle for a ride to the ceremony, e-mail info@ohvec.org right away. More

Volunteers Mary Wildfire and Brenda and Robin Wilson are in D.C. right now, taking part in BXE's #RubberStampRebellion. They are there to tell to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC): Stop rubber-stamping gas industry permit applications and change the way you operate.
