For the past several years, OVEC board, staff and others have participated in events in Huntington, WV to honor the legacy of the great leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In keeping with our tradition, we gathered with others on Monday, January 19th, to take part in the memorial march and the church service that followed.

OVEC board member, Jeff Bosley and his wife, Victoria, huddled
in expectation of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial March,
in Huntington, WV, Monday, January 19, 2004.

Dave McGee displays the words of Dr.King regarding war--"In the wasteland
of war, the expenditure of resources knows no restraints; here our
abundance is fully recognized and squandered." Huntington Mayor David
Felinton is to his left wearing the dark coat and red tie.

Folks gather behind a Huntington trolley waiting for the march to begin
while programs for the evening's events are distributed to participants.
Wearing the red hat in the center is Sylvia Ridgeway, president of the local
branch of the NAACP.

Good souls brave the cold weather to honor
the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
