We come to your inbox with reminders about two events today:

A strong democracy and fair courts are essential to advancing issues that will make West Virginia a better place to live. We need a democracy where everyone participates, every vote is counted, and everyone’s voice is heard.

Come stand up for voting rights today!

Please join us today, Tuesday, August 6 at noon at the Robert C. Byrd Federal Courthouse  (300 Virginia St E.) in Charleston to stand up for voting rights and call on Congress to restore the Voting Rights Act of 1962 by passing the Voting Rights Advancement Act (HR 4).

It’s going to be hot! Bring an umbrella for shade, and a water bottle.

If you wanna help with social media, here are some sample hashtags: We’re calling on Congress to restore the #VotingRightsAct of 1965 by passing #HR4 – the #VotingRightsAdvancementAct. #RestoreTheVOTE #WVProDemocracy

This event is sponsored by the WV Citizens for Clean Elections (WVCCE) coalition and member groups and allies, including the NAACP West Virginia, NAACP of Charleston WV, Call to Action for Racial Equality: CARE Coalition, Civil Liberties Union of West Virginia, West Virginia Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, West Virginia Citizen Action Group, OVEC-Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition, WV Healthy Kids and Families Coalition, Rise Up WV, WV Association for Justice.
