Here at OVEC we acknowledge that so much of the work to preserve the environment must be done through governmental channels. This means that we need transparency and accountability in those institutions, which is why OVEC is a founding sponsor of the West Virginia Citizens for Clean Elections — a coalition that was created to increase transparency and accountability in WV elections with emphasis on advancing reforms that strengthen democracy and ensuring fairness and impartiality in our courts..

The West Virginia Legislative Session is fast approaching and there is much work to be done: no excuse absentee voting, stopping the creation of an intermediate appellate court, and securing greater access to democracy for all West Virginians.
