EQT Contract with PA Landowners: Stops Landowners’ Filing of Any Nuisance Lawsuits

Wonder what an EQT “Easement Agreement” contains? The document below contains two samples of an Easement Agreement EQT has used in Pennsylvania. The easement prevents landowners that signed these documents from filing any future legal action against the company for any future nuisance that may arise as a result of EQT hydraulic-fracturing-related (fracking) activities on or near their property, in one case for one year after all eleven wells are totally completed (which could take years), in another case, forever.

Note that within the agreement is a payment of $40,000. Ask landowners who signed these contracts. Many have come to realize that the payment was not worth the ensuing trouble. Please, do not sign any contracts with gas companies. If you live in West Virginia, you can contact the OVEC office and we may be able to help network you with a lawyer who can help. EQT is one of the companies fracking north central West Virginia.
