OVEC Co-Directors Tonya Adkins and Vivian Stockman Retiring

We, Tonya Adkins and Vivian Stockman, are retiring at the end of 2021. We both started as volunteers with OVEC in the 1990s and are leaving OVEC as co-executive directors.

The pulp mill issue was what brought Vivian to OVEC. Soon after, we all started learning about mountaintop removal coal mining, the issue that brought Tonya to OVEC.

For nearly two decades, OVEC has been central to our lives, providing meaningful work, filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and make great friends.

We are proud of the work we’ve done, not solely as individuals, but as part of a feisty little environmental group that has taken on powerful polluting industries. OVEC’s efforts have been nationally and internationally recognized, with our reputation not built on any one individual, but upon the years of collective effort of passionate folks like you. We have been privileged to carry out our mission alongside dedicated staff, board members and volunteers, and loyal members and donors. We have had long-term support from allied organizations and philanthropic foundations. Together, we have made a positive difference in our region.

We are grateful for the opportunity to have been part of OVEC!
