In Huntington? Come out to the StinkFest at the Wild Ramp, which starts at 11 a.m.  and runs till 8 p.m. Meet OVEC organizer Alex Cole and OVEC board chair Mike Sullivan at our table.  

News: Wild Ramp’s StinkFest ramps up the tastes and smells of spring

StinkFest celebrates Ramps. Aliong with the OVEC table, there are local farmers and artisans selling and exhibiting various foods, produce, original recipes and artwork. There will also be a kids play area and more. Admission is free. Live music at the event will run noon to 8 p.m. The event will feature Moonshine Crossing at noon, Big Rock and the Candyass Mountain Boys at 1 p.m., The Mutual Admiration Society at 2 p.m., The Settlement at 4 p.m., and Beggars Clan at 6 p.m.

In Charleston? The Solar Congress starts at 10 a.m. It is a free, public conference designed for solar energy supporters from around the Mountain State to learn and share information. Along with a series of presentations and policy topics regarding solar technology, the event will conclude with a participatory open forum for all attendees to discuss priorities and opportunities in West Virginia.

Meet OVEC organizer Robin Blakeman and OVEC board member Steven Perry at our table. As a solar-powered homeowner, Robin will also speak on a panel.

Learn about and maybe even join the newly launched Charleston-Huntington Solar Co-op.

Later that evening, come over to the Solar Beer Happy Hour at Bluegrass Kitchen.
