Stonewall Gathering Pipeline Construction in Lewis County

For more than a year, award winning filmmaker and photographer Keely Kernan has been focusing her lenses on the human impacts of mountaintop removal and deep shale oil and gas extraction here in West Virginia.

Keely’s in the midst of creating In The Hills and Hollows, a film project consisting of a series of videos and a feature film about fossil fuel extraction in West Virginia. The film is about the significance of home and about the homesteaders who spent decades building their lives in West Virginia, and how their future has drastically changed as a result of fossil fuel extraction. OVEC and the Civil Society Institute are sponsoring the videos. OVEC is a sponsor of the the film. Other organizations and individuals have the opportunity to sponsor the film.
