Paul Corbit Brown, president of Keeper of the Mountains, has this to say about St. Mary’s Center of Education hosting ACCCE:

West Virginia has sacrificed body, mind, heart and soul for the comfort, ease, wealth and well-being of this nation. As a result of our sacrifices, we rank last in the entire United States in terms of well-being. We deserve better than a healthcare system that’s in bed with the very industry that is poisoning us. “Clean Coal” is a tired oxymoron that deserves to die far more than the people of West Virginia. A hospital supporting the very industry that is causing such devastating levels of cradle-to-grave sickness, adds insult to injury and raises the question, “Who are they really caring for and are they merely insuring more business for themselves?”

To encourage clean coal propaganda is to be complicit in the sickness, suffering and deaths of thousands of Appalachians. It is shameful for a hospital whose primary function should be the health of its community.

In Huntington, this Tuesday, November 12, we hope you can attend the rally for health and in opposition to St. Mary’s hosting this coal industry lobbyist.
