Mountaintop Removal in Twilight
Twilight in Boone County, West
Virginia is a wonderful place to be for now. But, thanks to multiple
mountaintop removal permits, Twilight is the next community on Route
26 to be threatened with extinction. Watch a video, read more and

News of this new initiative from OVEC is spreading, as is news of OVEC staffer Maria Gunnoe's latest major award. On Feb. 28, Maria received this year’s David Brower Lifetime Achievement Award from the Land, Air, Water Association, the nation’s oldest student environmental law society. She received the honor on February 28 at the Public Interest Environmental Law Conference in Oregon - right after she delivered a keynote address.
Tomorrow, March 9: Join
a National Call-In for
the Mountains (Tweet & Post Too)
Right now, more than 200 people from 30 states are in Washington,
D.C. for the 5th Annual Stop Mountaintop Removal Lobby Week. Please
help amplify their efforts - join a national call-in day, tomorrow,
March 9. People across the nation will be calling in support of the
Clean Water Protection Act.
To make the call, just click here for a very easy call-in tool there that will allow you to make a phone call to your Representative. The tool will walk you through the steps and give you tips on what to say.
Thanks for taking action! Because of people like you, we're as close as we ever have been to ending mountaintop removal.
