What:  Video interview with sister of a coal miner killed at Upper Big Branch released in response to “Upper Big Branch: Never Again,” a “documentary” funded by former Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship

Who: Coal miner Dean Jones was one of 29 men killed on April 5, 2010 at Massey Energy’s Upper Big Branch mine in West Virginia. Jones’ sister, Dr. Judy Jones Petersen, was interviewed about the tragedy by filmmaker Mari-Lynn Evans for her upcoming film, “Blood on the Mountain.”

Why: Upon hearing of Blankenship’s “documentary,” Petersen and Evans decided to release this interview as soon as possible, so that a family member’s side of the story could be told. The fourth anniversary of the explosion is tomorrow, April 5, 2014.
