July 30: Ohio River Rising March to Protect Our Ohio River. March begins at noon on July 30 in Fly, Ohio. Details here. From the organizers:
Industry continues to poison the waters of our Ohio River. On July 30, we gather on the banks of the Ohio River to march 2.5 miles along the Ohio Scenic Byway, showing solidarity as we take back our basic human right to clean and safe water and an environment that supports life.
We will rally around stopping any further oil and gas exploration planned for the Ohio River Valley and the many threats to our Wayne National Forest. Our focus on this event will bring attention to the Rover pipeline crossing under our Ohio River and the potential catastrophe that looms over our region as our public lands are leased out to be exploited by corporations.
There will be speakers, music, and a force of solidarity to be reckoned with. Save the date and come take action with us to help protect the future of our Ohio River Valley and beyond…
