We are popping into your inbox to ask a favor. We’re asking both individuals and organizations to read and sign on to a letter in opposition to the proposed Appalachian Petrochemical Hub. Find a blog with more info here. If you agree, please sign on, and ask others to do so, too.

We also wanted to make certain you know about some upcoming events.

Tomorrow, Saturday, June 16, if you are in the Huntington area, we hope to see you for Tri-State Water Defense’s big day

Join us at Harris Riverfront Park at 8:45 a.m. to take part in the Ohio River Sweep, and at noon for the main event of the day, Radical Joy for the Ohio River: People Binding the Earth, the 2018 Global Earth Exchange. Come over to beautiful Ritter Park at 3 p.m. for the Huntington Pride Picnic, where Tri-State Water Defense will have have a table. Come have some (free!) food, and enjoy some rest and relaxation in good company.

Then, on Monday, June 18, you are invited to join us in Charleston for

Fair Courts 101: “Protecting Our Democracy”

or in Pittsburgh, PA for

PaddleAgainstPetro

On June 30, at our office in Huntington and at a nearby stream, we are hosting a stream monitoring training. Details here.

Also, please save the date: As you will see on the back page of our summer newsletter, OVEC hosts our annual meeting and Treehuggers’ Ball on September 15. Details here.

Finally, if you haven’t seen it yet, please check out OVEC’s Summer edition of our newsletter, online here. If you get a print version of the letter as part of your OVEC membership, that should be in your mailbox in a couple of weeks.
