Virtual: Catholic Committee of Appalachia’s 2021 Annual Gathering

From our friends at the Catholic Committee of Appalachia

Join us to learn about, discuss, and move ahead “Making a Transition to a Just Economy,” hosted by the Kentucky State Chapter of CCA

Our Keynoteeconomist, Jeffery Sachs, will introduce us to the UN’s 17 Goals for Sustainable Development and you can read his most recent article here on his thoughts on Afghanistan.

Then, we’ll have a panel of experts and two breakout sessions, to hear from grassroots organizations, talking about which of those goals are being met in Appalachia, how folks are doing it, and what more we need and have to do to reach economic sustainability for the common good of all.

There will be dulcimer musical entertainment and plenty of opportunities to meet up with other attendees to discuss more, socialize and network. And, we’ll wrap up the weekend on Sunday celebrating a Mass open to all with Bishop John Stowe.

Check out the schedule and list of speakers here.
