Volunteer Opportunities

Tonya keeps a huge file of our mentions in the news hits for the organization's archival records and to share with our funders. She needs help with this time-consuming work of cutting and copying news articles. Contact Tonya for details.

Tonya Adkins, Development Director: Tonya writes most of our grant proposals, researches new grant opportunities and prepares grant reports. She maintains contacts with foundation officers, people and organizations that are important members of our network. Before coming to work for OVEC, Tonya was an adjunct professor of Sociology at Marshall University and served as state coordinator for the West Virginia Interfaith Global Climate Change Campaign. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Sociology and Cultural Anthropology with an emphasis on Appalachian culture. She has also conducted research on sustainable economic development in the southern coalfield region of West Virginia.
