Volunteer Opportunities

You can help Robin by hosting a house party/ film screening, engaging as a volunteer in our stream testing program, or helping with outreach to residents of affected communities. If you need information on faith based community engagement, pipelines in our area, Ohio River pollution control standards, or cemetery preservation, Robin can help.

Robin Blakeman, Project Coordinator: Robin is the staff coordinator for multiple aspects of our oil and gas related work, including the following issues we are currently organizing around in various communities:

  • Mountaineer and Leach Xpress pipeline monitoring; Buckeye Xpress pipeline opposition.
  • Base-line water testing and water quality monitoring in five central and western WV counties.
  • Pilot air quality monitoring program in Ceredo, WV
  • Tri-State Water Defense network leader
  • Networking with allies in the Ohio River region, and also within ORSANCO’s Watershed Organizations Advisory Committee, (WOAC), to preserve Ohio River pollution control standards, and raise awareness about UOGD related pollution in the Ohio River Basin. (UOGD is unconventional oil and gas development, AKA fracking.)

Also an ordained minister (PCUSA), Robin provides leadership on faith-based outreach and networking, and  serves as an active member of these faith-based coalitions:

  • WV Interfaith Power & Light
  • WV Presbytery Stewardship of Creation Ministry Team
  • WV Council of Churches Government Concerns Committee
  • Creation Justice Ministries

She works with leaders in faith communities across the state and region to raise awareness about justice issues related to strip mining, UOGD, water pollution and free speech.
