Donate to OVEC Via Kroger’s Community Reward Program

krogerIf you shop at Kroger, there’s a painless way to donate to us, at no extra cost to you.  As you checkout, scan your Kroger Plus Card. If you have tied the card directly to OVEC (details below) then Kroger will contribute to OVEC. Each year OVEC receives thousands of dollars via this program, so it really makes a difference!

Tie your Kroger Plus card to OVEC in the Community Rewards program. Go to www.krogercommunityrewards.com to renew / re-link your card as described below. If you have any trouble, you can call 800-576-4377 for help. (Note: you can renew at any time, if you miss the August deadline, but your card won’t be linked to us until you re-enroll.)

When looking for us, this information will be useful:

  • Organization Name: OVEC*Ohio River Valley Environmental Coalition
  • Organization Number: BY864

Note that Kroger wipes your Reward Card’s linkages clean every September. You can reconnect your card starting in August or even after September, but do re-link. Kroger sends you an e-mail reminder and also prints a notice you get with receipts.

Buy Groceries, Support OVEC’s Work!

To support OVEC this way you have to live in what Kroger defines as its Mid-Atlantic region, because this is a community-based program. The region consists of most but not all of WV, VA and NC and the eastern parts of OH, TN and KY. Although there is nothing we can do about where the lines of the Mid-Atlantic region are, we certainly hope you will check to see if your local Kroger is included.

Visit www.Kroger.com/communityrewards to enroll your personal Kroger Plus card (that’s the card you use at checkout to get discounts) and connect it to OVEC. Then, each time you use your Kroger Plus card, your purchases (excluding fuel, alcohol and tobacco) will go towards rewards for OVEC. In addition, once a household member enrolls her or his card, all linked Kroger Plus cards within that household will begin earning funds for OVEC.

“Rewards” may be earned for OVEC under Kroger Community Rewards as long as the gift cardholder has signed up successfully for the program and uses her or his Kroger Plus card at time of the purchase. And remember, you have re-link you card each year.
