17th Annual Treehuggers' Ball

Party on the Barge!

The 17th Annual Treehuggers' Ball was our biggest yet. Three bands played their own sets and then joined on stage for some amazing jam sessions. Giant thanks to all the musicians who donated their time and talent! Big ups to volunteer Stephen Perry for securing the musical line-up and the great meals for band members from Raw Times Health Bar.

Thanks to Eric Fout for securing Holderby's Landing--what an excellent venue--a barge right on the Ohio River. Thanks to Michael Morrison for schlepping all over town to solicit Silent Auction items and to Ronda for setting up the Silent Auction tables.

Here's a more complete thank you list: Aristotle and the Excellent Lovers, Big Rock & the CandyA** Mountain Boys, Bud Carroll, Chris Allen, Brad & Christina Roush at Raw Times Health Bar, Tem Kirk at the WV House of Music, Paul Callicoat at Rt. 60 Music, Tracy Toler  with Visual Grove Productions, Chris Morris with Music in Motion Production, DJ Jason 1L, Ronda Harper, Chrystal Gunnoe, Mike Morrison (1000 times), Chuck Wyrostok, the waitress at Blue Grass Kitchen, Frog Creek Books, to all the individuals who donated for our silent auction, Old Village Roasters, Scent from Heaven, Happy Camper and--in Pullman Square--Borders, Starbucks, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Coldstone Creamery. Thanks to so many volunteers and everyone who came out to make this a super fun event.

We don't have too many photos. Your photographer was busy taking donations at the door, peddling OVEC T-shirts and looking foolish on the dance floor.

Our venue, a renovated barge anchored on the Ohio River--complete with coal barges carting away the heart of the mountains.

As dusk fell and Treehuggers' Ball opening time approached, things got festive.
